Designed by Taxidermists for Taxidermists The primary taxidermy mounting area at Hawkins was shut down for almost 2 weeks last fall. The basement was completely gutted from wall to wall, a first in 30 years. We regret now we did not take a picture of the basement before we refurbished it. We utilized 180 sq feet of stainless steel benches, counters and sinks used in the new design. The new facility has almost doubled the number of taxidermists that can work comfortably in the area at one time. A picture of half the basement is below.
