Hawkins History - A twelve year old Minnesota boy once decided to keep a dead Northern Flicker that he had found. In a rather crude fashion he "stuffed" the tiny creature. Forty years later John Palmer Hawkins, still a lover of nature, established his taxidermy business in Winnipeg.

What A Place! - Over 30 years ago I started in the taxidermy field right out of high school. My first job was with Ken Hawkins at the original location on Main Street in Winnipeg. I left Hawkins and started to work for a local competitor 24 years ago only to return last October.
